Colonic Hydrotherapy
Colon Hydrotherapy, also known as Colonic Irrigation, offers an excellent opportunity to restore and maintain optimum colon health throughout your life. The practice of cleansing ones colon (lower bowel) isn't a new idea, and when you discover some of its many benefits, it may encourage you to pursue this further; either by obtaining a colonic (enema) kit, or by engaging the services of a professional colonic hydrotherapist.
Note: This type of alternative therapy maybe referred to by different names, depending on which area of the country you live, plus the type of apparatus being employed to effect the colon cleanse.
Colonic hydrotherapy, Colonic irrigation, or high colonic generally involves the use of low-pressure water (induced mechanically or by gravity) and administered in the presence of, and/or with the assistance of a trained colonic therapist. This is one of the many services that we provide here at The St Mary Institute.
Enema, colon lavage, and clysters are generally self-administered and they only involve the evacuation and cleansing of the lower sigmoid colon and rectum. This is not as thorough a cleanse, but is still beneficial.
